continued from the Pearl Harbor day …
We were dropped off at the Duke Kahanamoku statue which is only about 300 metres from our hotel. It is a well known landmark and the bus stop is just metres away.
There is a free hula show on Tuesday evenings and they were setting up when we walked past to go back to our hotel. There’s a little grassed, stage area where people were already gathering for the show.
It wasn’t starting for another hour or so, so we continued on to the hotel to freshen up walking past the winding down of another day on Waikiki Beach.
Of course there are always the surfers and paddle boarders waiting for waves at any time of the day.
The banyan tree. I love the banyan tree.
Our ocean front hotel room with the stunning view is on the left corner of the twelfth floor, five floors down from the top. Here, click on this link to the Pacific Beach Hotel webcam for a taste of the view.
When we went back later to watch the hula dancing the show had already started. A young woman was dancing and the next set of dancers was ready for their turn. As we were late I only managed to get a side-on view so I wasn’t able to get very good photos.
It was great to get a taste of Hawaiian hula dancing and an entertaining way to end the day.
